EGR Delete Kit

A block-off kit for the D-4S 4.6L V8 from the Lexus LS460 and GS460, and also for the growing crowd transplanting this engine into drift, drag and custom builds, where it is one of the cleanest deletes we make.

This kit is in active development. We expect finished kits available for immediate purchase in Fall 2026. Building a 1UR-FSE swap now? Register your interest below so we can match the kit to your setup.

01Overview

The 1UR-FSE is the direct-injection (D-4S) sibling of the 1UR-FE, sharing the same water-cooled EGR architecture but on a different, D-4S-specific intake manifold. Our kit blocks the external EGR circuit at the intake face and seals the cooler’s coolant path. Where it really shines is the swap world: many 1UR-FSE builds run standalone engine management, and with no factory ECU watching the EGR, the delete becomes a purely mechanical bolt-on.

02Why delete it

Swap cleanupRemoves a coolant-and-exhaust subsystem you don’t want to plumb into a transplanted chassis.
Standalone-friendlyOn FuelTech and similar standalone setups there is no EGR to wire or trigger codes, so it is just plates and you’re done.
Intake cleanlinessStops EGR soot from adding to intake-tract deposits on a direct-injection engine.
Intake tempsCloses off a hot-gas path into the manifold for a cooler charge.
Straight talk on carbon. D-4S already uses port injectors that wash the intake valves, so deleting the EGR is not a cure-all for direct-injection valve carbon, since periodic induction service still does that job. What the delete does is stop the EGR from contributing soot in the first place, and clean up the swap.

Standalone swaps: nothing else neededNo factory ECU means no EGR monitor and no codes, so the plates are the whole job.
  • [!]
Retained OEM ECU: flash requiredIf you keep the factory LS460 / GS460 computer, an ECU flash is needed to clear the EGR monitors. The 1UR-FSE ECU is flashable through established tuners.

05Electronics & install

The decision tree is simple. Standalone management (the common path for drift and drag 1UR-FSE swaps): there is no OEM ECU, so block the EGR off and move on. Factory ECU retained (a stock LS460/GS460 or a swap carrying the donor computer): the D-4S ECU monitors EGR flow and valve position, so the plates pair with a flash that disables those monitors. We’ll document both paths in the install guide and spec the exact gasket and hardware so the plate seats on the factory face without fabrication.
